It’s time for women to celebrate their heritage and achievements!

Stuttgart has become the most multicultural city in Germany. As a photographer I meet people from all over the world who come to study, work, and live here. There are so many interesting personalities that cross my pathway and I am grateful for the opportunity to meet them. And Arouba is one of them. She is a beautiful young woman from Pakistan finishing her doctorate at the Stuttgart University.

When I invited her to a portrait session, she was not sure what to expect. The last photographs she had of herself were from her wedding and she was not quite satisfied with how she looked in them. I assured her that this time, the portraits will be exactly as she always wanted them to be. We picked her outfits together and discussed the look the hair and make up artist was too create for her. So when Arouba arrived for her photoshoot she knew what to expect. She could relax and enjoy the pampering. And the result was stunning! And for the first time in her life, she was so proud of her portraits that she proudly displays them in her apartment and gave some of them as gifts to her parents as well.

You’re such an intelligent and beautiful woman Arouba. Be proud of who you are! I hope our pathways will cross soon again.

Stuttgart hat sich zur multikulturellsten Stadt Deutschlands entwickelt. Als Fotograf treffe ich Menschen aus der ganzen Welt, die hierher kommen, um zu studieren, zu arbeiten und zu leben. Es gibt so viele interessante Persönlichkeiten, die meinen Weg kreuzen, und ich bin dankbar für die Gelegenheit, sie kennenzulernen. Und Arouba ist einer von ihnen. Sie ist eine schöne junge Frau aus Pakistan, die an der Universität Stuttgart promoviert.

Als ich sie zu einer Porträtsitzung einlud, war sie sich nicht sicher, was sie erwarten würde. Die letzten Fotos, die sie von sich hatte, stammten von ihrer Hochzeit und sie war nicht ganz zufrieden damit, wie sie darauf aussah. Ich versicherte ihr, dass die Porträts dieses Mal genau so sein werden, wie sie es sich immer gewünscht hatte. Wir wählten gemeinsam ihre Outfits aus und besprachen den Look, den die Haar- und Make-up-Artistin zu sehr für sie kreiert hatte. Als Arouba zu ihrem Fotoshooting ankam, wusste sie, was sie erwarten würde. Sie konnte sich entspannen und die Verwöhnung genießen. Und das Ergebnis war atemberaubend! Und zum ersten Mal in ihrem Leben war sie so stolz auf ihre Porträts, dass sie sie stolz in ihrer Wohnung ausstellte und einige davon auch ihren Eltern schenkte.

Du bist so eine intelligente und schöne Frau, Arouba. Sei stolz darauf Wer du bist! Ich hoffe, dass sich unsere Wege bald wieder kreuzen.
